The Lab found bugs in the verification algorithm in the UENC fast synchronization module. This bug makes the block-missing node unable to find available synchronous data for quickly block filling through the Byzantine algorithm, which results in numerous nodes being unable to synchronize after several high block-missing nodes, and the availability of node data state continuously decreases. The risk of this bug has an extremely low probability of causing the vast number of nodes to end up forking.
We have determined the new algorithm and completed the code development, which requires some time for testing and verification. During this period, we suggest that you temporarily shut down the node and wait for the release of the new client to avoid the occurrence of the above probability events. It will take some time for the test work after the repair. We will release the latest client terminal to fix the verification algorithm bugs in the fast synchronization as soon as we complete the code verification.
